I was really disappointed with these servos. I bought two for my wraith (front and rear) and within a couple days both had broken gears. The teeth on the main out put gear and the top center broke off (they didn't even strip, the teeth sheared right off). I bought two sets of replacement gears and after a few runs they broke as well. Contacted JR and they would only send me one set of gears for both servos. I'm disappointed in the servos and in the company. Don't waster your money on these. I will be sticking with my hitec 7950s from now on.
These servo's are great as long as you don't really wana run Lipo thru them. I had no problems wile running a NiMh pack for almost 8 months. Finally went to Lipo direct and went thru 4 of them (2 HVS and 2 HVT) in less than 2 months. Plus JR gives you a harder time replacing these $200 servos than they do replacing the $100 9100 series.
Yes they are correct... mostly every reciever can support 9.6v. These recievers seem great, but are freakin Xspencive!!!
I e-mailed JR a few weeks ago and asked when they would be coming out with Li-Po voltage-compatible receivers that would support these new servos. They replied, stating that "Most receivers can handle the higher voltage. The Spektrum units can handle up to 9.6 volts. If you have further questions please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-504-0233." This is simply information that I received from JR and I make no representation that what they're saying is true. But why would I question them?
