It's awesome only a few things keep it from being perfect. Ofna makes belted tires and should have included them in this roller kit. Oh and the body doesn't quite line up with the wheels. Other than that its soo much fun. Tech notes Install the motor before you install the battery tray/ receiver box. The kit does include the front bumper.
Awsome car for the price hard to break, i have a castle creations monster 2200kv set up in it with a 6s. i taped a gps inside the body and got to 122 km/h before the wind got under the body it blew up like a ballon and left the ground... didn't break a thing.. handles well, pity that the instructions are less then helpful for assembly. great fun
About as much as a 1/10 on road but much more controllable! Vehicle $200, mamba monster 2200 $250, 2.4ghz (your choice). No further upgrades needed for racing! 1/10 race cars are $200+, then another $100+ in upgrades, another $150+ in motor/esc, and add 2.4ghz (your choice). This ended up being way cheaper and more fun than my race TC4. Total built wieght (w/o batts) with monster 2200: 7lbs 10oz. My tire of choice is Losi DLM. Once they warm up they grip like crazy! I did have to toe out a bit and add negative camber to maintain flat front tire contact patch under hard cornering. The whole car holds its setup very well. I periodically check it and the only thing that's ever needed slight readjustment was the pillow balls on the front but that's normal for pillowball setups. Box stock the front tires wore heavy on the inside. I run mine on 4s 40c 5000mah w/16t pinion and DLM tires I GPSed 43mph with long 20+ minute runtimes in large parking lots. Once I turned timing to lowest and punch control up on the monster this thing became much more driveable. It does NOT have a center diff which does create some push BUT thats better than unloading the front wheels all the time like some other brushless 1/8 that have a center diff. Im not sure if it would benefit from a center diff with very thick grease maybe from another Ofna? For the money it's cheaper to buy a whole new car for parts than it is a few parts at a time and sell the parts you don't need. Mine NEVER breaks though. This is the only car I've ever owned that I don't regularly break parts on (partly because there's not much to hit on road and the car stays on the ground). The sounds this car makes at speeds over 40mph are beautiful. It will make people OOOh and Ahhh with its presence.
Got this Kit a couple of months ago, added MMM w/Castle 2200kv Brushless & a Spectrum 6030 servo. I've got one word for this car - Awesome! I have so much fun driving it on a big parking lot & setting up cones into a GT course. For the money you just can't go wrong. I've rolled it a handful of times, ran it into a cement curb at about 20mph, have driven it at over 80mph (with high gearing and 35c 6cell batteries)- with the stock body! Haven't broken anything!! The body's gotten a bit beat up from the rolls & curb hit, but still functioning well. I can't believe the quality and what's included in this kit for the price! It really opens the door for us street bashers to haul A$$ for a budget price. Solid, heavy, well assembled, includes body & wheels (threaded anodized aluminum shocks included - are you kidding me?!). No complaints, but there are a few things to address with a budget kit like this. 1-the steering has a bit more play than I like - but very functional, and the body style's not that great - but again for the price - sheesh! What more could you ask for - as for me, it's about the best deal, and one of toughest built of my 8 R/C cars.
This vehicle's price - performance ratio is very high. There is a very solid chassis. I have this car in "Speed Passion Silver Arrow 2 + Cirtix 2200 Kv" used. Car 80% comes assembled, my job a lot easier. This car, I would strongly recommend anyone considering buying.
