This is a set of optional RPM Medium - Heavy, 2-Stage Shock Pistons, and are intended for use with Associated, Losi, and Traxxas off road vehicles with standard bore shock bodies. True performance lies in the ability to dial in your suspension. If youíre an intermediate to expert suspension technician, you have the ability to take your suspension to a new level.
In a compressed state, the two halves press together to meter the shock fluid through two holes. As the suspension unloads (in the standard config.), the two plates separate, allowing the fluid to flow through multiple holes, which returns the shock to static position at a higher rate. These pistons are the closest things that R/C can get to full sized racing.
Donít be fooled, even the fastest racers in the world are using them; the trick is to get them to admit it! After all, if everyone used them, who would gain the advantage? Maybe you? This set includes three sets of four pistons (red, green, & purple), and are best used on tracks with moderate to major obstacles and smoother sections.
NOTE: These will NOT work with big bore shocks.

Required some face sanding so they were thin enough to fit (and work properly) as well as some smaller diameter e-clips on the Losi shocks. Other than the time required for modification, they perform very, very well. The shocks function as though they contain a light oil on rough surfaces (softer) yet when a sudden force is applied, true to their design, they function as though they contain a heavy oil (harder) which keeps my car from excessive chassis slap. This feature has allowed me to use softer springs and heavier oil (odd set-up for me) than I normally would. So on a track with large jumps, I can tune the car for better traction overall without sacrificing the car's landing characteristics. I would have given them a higher rating (5 stars) except that I had to modify them for my application.
This 2-stage shock piston makes my Jammin/Ofna/Hongnor SCRT10 drives very comfortable, stock small shock performance maximised by this piston. If use with stock shock shaft, it need to be sand down till it fit bewteen e clip, or you can use with traxxas shock shaft (yes, Ti-nitride shock shaft on SCRT10) without sanding work. The diameter is OK to fit into the shock body but no very smooth, all need to do is use a sharp knife to scrape the side face of piston slightly (install them together first) until it feel smooth, this only take few minutes. After that high performance and silky smooth shocks on SCRT10!
I use these all day long in all my associated v2 shocks. They will not work with the "big bore" shocks. These work great!
These are great! Try these before spending $60.00 for a pair of aftermarket shocks. These 2-stage pistons make my stock Traxxas Slash shocks work like the expensive shocks that I have seen at my local R/C track. Before, when I pushed down on my Slash, the ride height came back slowly and never back the "normal average". Now my Slash 'jumps' back up to its normal ride height every time. These will make your shocks work like their full sized counter-parts. BTW: I did use Losi e-clips (LOSB2011) without a problem. Losi (LOSB2011) are a better quality e-clip than Traxxas - industrial quality, not soft, flimsy & easily bent like Traxxas.
Wont work with associated V2 shocks, other than that they wrok well.
