This is the Motonica P81 RS2 Upgrade Kit. This upgrade kit includes everything needed to update the P81 suspension components to RS2 specs. The RS2 stays true to the overall design developed with the previous chassis, keeping the technical features and most of the components of the RS untouched.
The most important innovation found on the RS2 is the front hub set that allows you to easily make adjustment to the king pin angles for a considerable performance gain. The patented hub set (MOT05212) was designed with a focus on making these adjustments simple and effective without modifying the way the hubs work, and without having to replace any of the components. Using the washers supplied in the kit it is possible to adjust the king pin inclination angle from negative to positive. Until now the P81 series has had a +1.2mm king pin angle, and now you can adjust anywhere from +1.2mm to 0 in 0.3mm increments with the supplied spacers and up to -1.2mm with additional spacers purchased separately. Another great innovation is the ability to completely remove the bearing housing and wheel shaft from the hub without having to remove the hub! This is very convenient when it comes to maintaining the bearings, because you can remove the parts without affecting the setup.
The RS2 also introduces two updates to the suspension geometry. The first is the shock mount that attaches to the front lower arm (MOT05205). This moves the shock up and out, and has two mounting positions. Used in combination with the RS2 shock tower, the result is more steering and smoother response in the curves. The second update is the simplified rear upper arm. It has now been replaced with a tie-rod, making the car easier to drive and the suspension action more fluid. Also included is the adjustable rear blade sway bar.
