RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Truck Kit w/Mojave Body Set
I have one of these.. Berry realistic. The leaf springs are soft. R3 transmission is good. I like the model.

really love the scale realism of this kit i am having so much fun building and changing this thing. i like the two speed trans as well plus all the gears are steel..well accept the spur gear but there is no issue there at all for me. i highly recommend it to any one who is in to a really scale truck kit. there is so many upgrades and add ons for this thing it will make your head spin!

RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Truck Kit w/Mojave Body Set
I just assembled this last weekend, pretty straight foreword kit, but leaves you guessing on a few steps, as mounting the body to the chassis. There's holes in the side of the cab for inserting screws, which could be great, but what do you do when it's time to change the battery? Everyone knows these screw heads strip out very easy. I'd much rather the hair pins as which holds down the rear in the bed. I went and drilled 1 hole each side of the front bumper mount, and inserted (screwed in) 2 set screws left over from the build. They stick out about 1/2" and fit nice inside the the lower air-damp below the front bumper on the body. It locks the front end of the body in, and the hairpins do a fine job at holding down the rear. I went and ordered the recommended servos and esc from rc4wd. I have a SCX10 Trail Honcho that I've modded a little. (rc4wd lists the Outcry Crawler Speed Controller ESC with TurboBEC), I don't like it as when I turn off a switch, I expect the devise to be "Turned-Off", not with this item, servos still have power to them as the switch only turns off the esc and not the receiver. I went with one I know works for me with an Axial ESC, I'm also going to go with an Axial Steering Servo as the recommended one doesn't have enough torque to return the wheels to the neutral position. Once again, I left go of the wheel, or put down the radio, I don't want the truck to still be running. I hear the servo "trying" to return to neutral. I don't have time or extra cash flow to go nickel & dime-ing for a strong enough servo, I know the axial one works just fine, and I have an extra. As for the motor I got there recommended 55 turn motor, way too slow in high gear. Since I put a 20 turn in my honcho, I put that 27 turn axial in the trail finder 2, Runs it great. You get Metal Axles, Transmission and Transfer case, but they throw "Plastic" drives shafts in the kit, still shaking my head on that one. A pretty decent kit, and running axial electronics is the way to go, my transmitter/receiver is a RC4WD XR3

RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Truck Kit w/Mojave Body Set
Nice rig but parts are to weak and designed to be upgraded especially the bearings. Get ready to sink serious money into it to get it trail tough and approved.
