Serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM Mid Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit
For 300 bucks, you're getting a good deal. Sure, the B5m is a little cheaper and most hobby shops have the parts in stock, but I just got rid of my B5m, I had for 6-1/2 months, it's a good buggy, but Associated went cheap on quite a few things..hence the low price. However on the Spyder, you get some very nice quality parts for only a few bucks more than the Associated.

Serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM Mid Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit
Great Buggy, Have been putting it through it's paces, Some things I would suggest in need of upgrading would be the O Rings for the shock bottoms, The diff nut should not be plastic (I had to use an associated screw and nut), The Idler gear does strip and would be best upgraded to the steel Idler when built, Bearings have seized in the out drives in the gear box (since replaced with associated bearings) For the price and the limited time in production, With all the above taken into account, It is a very good choice and worth sticking with, Cant wait to see the next version.

Serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM Mid Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit
Great buggy easy build the only thing you need to change the shock O-rings to the X rings by traxxis or Kyosho and use the green slime from associated(1105) on your shock shafts and seals. Or your shocks will leak.great buggy lots of carbon fiber b5 has none. Buy this!!!! Lol

Serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM Mid Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit
Kit went together very well, shocks are amazingly smooth. 1/8" diff balls last way longer then even the new B5 diff. Picked it up after getting fed up with a twitchy C4.2 and despite being the only one at my local track running a Serpent I have managed to get it set up perfect with very limited changes from the box setup. I would recommend this buggy to anyone who wants to run something really fast but also different from what everyone else is running.

Serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM Mid Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit
What the B5M wishes it was. Great fitment. Carbon fiber shock towers and battery strap, adjustable skipper AND clutch without removing anything. LOW STOCK WEIGHT means you don't really need to purchase a ton of hop up parts.

Serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM Mid Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit
The only 2wd I havent owned is a Losi 22 2.0. But I have driven one. Ive owned pretty much every other brand and can tell you honestly this kit is a real pain in the butt. Shocks leak, bad o-rings. Gear diff, should you choose to buy one also has the same issue. One run and all the diff oils gone. Horrible ball cups, the most ridiculous idea ever I changed mine to B5M ones for durability and convinience. Horrible ball diff and lock nut. You have to use two aluminum idlers or the whole gear box will strip. However there is support for this car on FB, but its more like an AA meeting for people to complain. No one really has any answers on how to fix its issues. The car is just a pain to work on, a pain to fix constantly and yhere are better options. If I had to recommend a car for this class, buy a Kyosho RB6, or a B5M Lite. Youll love those cars and everything about them. If you want a PIA of a car that youre always wrenching on buy this, its no wonder people are selling these off for close to nothing. Even the build doesnt go smoothly. Dont have to take my advice, just trust all the feedback online, stay away.
