Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann was able to put his brand new D413 atop the qualifying board in the 4WD Modified class for both round 1 and round 2 of qualifying. Tessmann’s D413 looks like a rocket around the track, and he says it’s smooth and easy to drive. The big focus according to Torrence DeGuzman, who designed the buggy, was durability, to give Ty and Hot Bodies’ racers confidence when they push the limits.
TLR’s Dakotah Phend top qualified both first rounds of Modified Stadium truck with his 22T. Phend was nearly flawless in both of his runs. If he grabs a TQ in Mod Truck on day two of qualifying he’ll wrap up the overall TQ.
Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield is running Modified 2WD, Modified 4WD and Short Course. Mans has looked great thus far! He is the current TQ in Short Course, has the combined points lead for Modified 2WD and is second overall in Modified 4WD. In his second qualifying run in Mod 4WD Maifield was edged out by Tessman by just .2 of a second. Maifield was fired up about being edged out by the young gun when it looked like he would secure the TQ spot.
