Jared Tebo had an unusual day yesterday when he struggled a bit in qualifying. Tebo admitted in an interview with LiveRC that he made too many mistakes and was upset about his day. Tebo has already turned things around in the third round of qualifying with a TQ in Modified Stadium Truck. Modified 2WD has yet to be run in round three and Tebo was super-fast with his Kyosho RB-6 mid-motor car yesterday and will certainly be in the hunt. If he limits his mistakes he’ll be in the mix for the top spot.
TLR’s Dakotah Phend is the only Losi driver in the top heat of qualifiers in Mod 4WD, but it didn’t matter because he was the fastest. Just when some counted out TLR in 4WD, the young talent threw down a heck of a run to beat out the likes of Hot Bodies’ Tessmann and Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri. What’s important is that Dakotah won with a platform that’s over a decade old–the Triple-X4–he was only a few years old when the car was released. If TLR fans are looking for a new 4WD platform it doesn’t look like they’re working on one here, but sources close to the team say “something is coming.”
